Marlow came to Verterra Collies after a couple dogs didn't work out in our program for various reasons. I saw her picture and figured her breeders had to be keeping that one, didn't even question it. While having brunch one day in South Carolina with two of my best friends who I met in dogs, whom we affectionately called ourselves "Smooth Crew", one conversation would turn the entire trajectory of my breeding program. Crystal Stoner, one of Marlow's breeders offered to share her with me, I was shocked, honored, and elated. Marlow was such a mellow puppy, she fit effortlessly into our family and was exactly the temperament I'd been hoping for. After having finished my previous AKC Champion at 6 months and 14 days old, I decided to go a different route with Marlow and let her mature a while before showing her. She was a natural in the ring and was easy to finish, even with her later start. After her CH, Marlow took some time off to have a litter and fill out more. she came back as beautiful as ever and finished her Grand easily. While Marlow definitely enjoys the ring, she is a fantastic mother and truly enjoys her babies. She had her second litter late in 2025 with our friends at Pineland Collies in Colorado. We have been so pleased with how she's producing and what wonderful health and temperaments she's passing on to her offspring. We look forward to a litter this fall with all colors of rough and smooths possible.
